These 100 objects were nominated by museums across Northern England. They represent only a small proportion of the many millions stored in their collections and can therefore tell only some of the incredible stories that reveal the North’s ability to reinvent itself, to survive, thrive and create new futures for itself and others.
Funded by The National Lottery and developed by Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums as part of the Great Exhibition of the North.
Our sponsors have made this great project possible. We thank those and everyone else who have brought the North's 100 objects to life.
With thanks to Museum Development Programmes for the North East, Yorkshire & Humberside and the North West.
Special thanks to Rosedale Advisory and TAB The Alternative Board for their sponsorship of 'Struggle with the Quarry' as part of 'Which Way North' at the Great North Museum: Hancock.
